The second union office
- Dozens of policemen on high alert standing in line to guard the second union office. At that time, Minamata was in a tense situation because the second union members broke through picket lines to go back to work on August 11. Therefore, 900 policemen were deployed in this area, some of that came from other cities in Kumamoto and neighboring prefectures.
- A commercial building and a box lunch shop now stand on the site of the second union office that used to be guarded by policemen.
