Around Minamata Station

- The station building was open in 1926. Some other city projects got a boost from the fact that Minamata was designated as a model harbor city in 1952 and the building was renovated. The advertising display: Akadama Hall is a Japanese pinball parlor and some signs on the mountainside in the back are seen in the picture.
- Minamata station at present. The station has become less popular since a new station called Shin-Minamata for Shinkansen bullet train was built far from here.
